Summer Demonstration OPS

The Summer of 2022 BRIDGES Coalition held a Demonstration Overdose Prevention Site Installation at Nomu Nomu an art collective in Downtown Baltimore. This installation was to show the community what a OPS looks like from the lobby to registration the use room and the hang out space where people can find other resources.

Members of the community, including EMS, members of the fire department, local harm reduction organizations, Our Daily Bread, Baltimore City Council members, residential treatment centers and more came to tour the installation and learn more about these facilities.

On the last day a press conference was held in which Dr. Letitia Drazsia Baltimore City Health Commissioner, Baltimore City Mayor Brandon Scott, Baltimore County Senator Shelly Hettleman, BRIDGES Member William Miller Sr and former BRIDGES Coalition Lead Organizer Rajani Gudlavaletti addressed the media and others about the need for these services in not only the city of Baltimore, but the state of Maryland.
